03-09-09 League Game 1- Home vs Stoke Rangers: A shock to start with as we walked into the alley only to see the small pins were on the alley, but we played on and with a couple a spares managed to gain our first Div 1 scalp. League Game 2 away vs Under Pressure: Victory in League Game 2 last night. Lost the first hand but then gained some back on the 2nd and 3rd only to lose more on the 4th. Then came along our monster 60 hand with spares from Ade and Bod pulling 21 pins on the 5th and 7 more on the 6th secured a 21 pin victory. League Game 3 - home vs 3 Cheers 3: Well our 1st league loss last night. Small pins again which kept all our scores low. Last year we were hitting high 40s to low 50s, last night Dex was top score with just 38. 3 Cheers 4 came and beat us ending our unbeaten run of 2 wins from the first 2 games of the season. Overall, good atmosphere last night, all in high spirits once we were off the alley. Chilli was the food of choice with chunky chips and rice, no complaints on that. league game 4 away at The Royal Standard: Started the night on a high by winning the 1st 2nd hands with the Outcasts hitting surprisingly low scores for them. then they hit normal form and we stayed as we were. Thurs 8th Oct Away vs Porn Stars at the Bell Inn: league match 6. defeated again but 10 pins but it could have been worse. League Game 7 home v Jacket Spuds: We started off the night well pulling 16 pins in the first 2 hands but the Spuds came back talking 21 pins back. We pulled a couple back but then lost another 10 on the last. we are now on 4pts from a possible 14. Food tonight was chips, beans, sausages (we think) and bread. League Game 8 away vs Ball Boys at Johnson Park 29-10-09: Lots of things finally went our way for a change last night. We won a game, first time since 10th Sept by 27 pins. Lee Collett took the Mega Rollerover Tote £41.00 Dex gets his first spare of the season (about blooming time). Brit's a Daddy. Bod's going to be, again. We played in an upstairs alley! League Game 11: Away vs Let Em Roll Team: Lee Collett, Lee Chapman, Mark Bowditch, Rob Britton, Graeme Hyde and Neil Dexter. Again, lost but by only 10 pins. just losing a few on each hand. Dex top score with 49 and Gra bottom with 33. Foresters Arms was a nice pub, only the skittle teams and a couple of regulars. Bod jogged out hence the outfit. Food: Chuncky Chips and sausages. We will start winning again soon...

Nomi Cup RD2 - Home vs TNT (Div2): After a bye in the 1st rd and and losing the last 3 league games we needed a win to boost moral. And victory was ours by a massive 44pins. We had the Clarky Trio as stickers. Also the much hyped Secret Santa Draw, which couldn't get any worse than last year when Ade ended up with 2 gifts and Steve with none. This time it wad done under stricked conditions (by Dex after a few pints sat at the bar). we look forward to next week to see what everyone got for their exact £10. 14-01-10 Home vs Under Pressure: First game of the New Year and the beginning of the 2nd half of the season. Now is the time to turn our season around and start our fight for survival in Div 1. Well maybe we'll start that turn around next week as we lost by 8 pins. We were closer to a win this week with being only 1pin down with 1 hand to play but failed to keep the pressure on and it is us now who are Under Pressure. League Game 16 Away vs 3 Cheers 4: Coll, Chappers, Ade, Brit, Hyder & Bod. Not a great start - 11 down after the 1st hand, but we pulled one back on the 2nd only to lose that 1 on the 3rd hand. Midway and still in with a chance to turn the game around. We lose 4 more on the 4th hand but gain 3 on the 4th so its all down to the last. 3 Cheers 4 hit a surprising 37 and that leaves us only to hit 50 to win. The scene is set, the other team has stayed in the alley… Shaky start with Coll hitting a 4 but with Chappers 7 and Ade with a 14 spare we are back. Brit hits an 8 and sets the top score of 54. 17 required with 2 left to play. The tension mounts and Gra hit a 5 leaving Bod to get a spare… Bugger - good effort spare chance had but finished with a 9. We lose by only 3 pins but it might as well been 30.

League Game 17 - Home vs Outcasts (Royal Standard): League Game 17 - Home vs Outcasts (Royal Standard) Team: Coll Chaps Ade Tom-(sticker) Steve Dex Chasing only our 2nd win at home we took on the Outcasts and straight away after the 1st hand we were 19 down. We chipped away at their lead we spares from Ade and Dex but could not over turn it. We got within 9 but in the end lost by 12pins. Nomi Cup Quarter Final Draw took place and we are drawn at home to fellow Div 1 team "B" Team on Tues 23rd Feb. League Game 18 Away vs Friday Rejects: Enough talk now let's start winning. Team: Bod Chaps Ade Brit Gra Dex 1at half they pulled out a 19 pin margin but the spares start flowing and we pulled 15 back with 2 hands to play. They then grabbed a further 5 from us leaving us with a 59 required on the last hand. The hand ticked along with spares needed from Gra and Dex for a victory, Gra kept his side of the bargin but Dex missed his spare chance and we lose yet again. Man of the Match: Bod with a great 60 and that's with a few spare chances missed. Well next game is the Pairs Nomination Cup final with Bod and Rob playing to bring home some silverware. Nomination Pairs Cup Final: Liquor and Poker played in the final of the Pairs Cup. So how did Gra and Dex come to be playing. Well the pair was decided by who had the best scores last league game which was Bod and Brit. Brit dropped out earlier this week promoting Gra. Then Bod dropped out late Thurs meaning Chappers can take to the stage. Next Chappers too ill to play leaving Dex, Steve and Coll to spoof for the place along side Gra. Steve drops out due to a bad back leaving Dex and Coll to spoof it out (does no-one want to play with Gra!). Dex wins the Spoof and we're on first. Nomination skittles infront of a packed alley with a total of 14 teams plus supporters makes it a nervy game. We played good enough to get passed the knockout stage when only the top 6 teams carried on and finished 5th overall. Nomination Cup Quarter Final vs B Team: Team: Lee Collett Lee Chapman Steven Clark Adrian Tavener Robert Britton Neil Dexter We started the night at the Armoury as it was a home tie but due to an alley booking cockup we ended up giving away home advantage and played at Stoke WMC top alley. After settling down to our new surroundings and having kickout the band which was practicing the game got underway about an hour late. The game had it all, ducks. missed spares and drama. After 6 hands a piece we were tied and an extra hand had to be played. We hit a 37 and they managed a 40.
