Arrive at Oka Park (Quebec provincial) on Friday afternoon. Had just about decided not to leave that day, as it was pouring rain in Ottawa. But none almost as soon as we left here. Park is lovely, and as can be seen, gorgeous beach.
A few neat trails, incl this one, which is the "way of the cross" - but we never did much of it ... too long, and too humid that day.
Later in the day, at the beach - compare that to the empty beach the day before.
Along the beach - starts to be a different "kind" of place ... Lots of traffic in by water, bike, etc.
Yup, that's what you see ...
Sunday, moving on to Quebec city. Here's our first adventure, on Monday morning.
Museum of Civilization ... lovely
Walking in Lower and then Upper towns ..
Next day, on to the Plains of Abraham area ..
On the way back to the campground, we stopped at the falls at Montmorency ... incredible ..
Then, we took a ride to Jacques Cartier park, located just 40 km north of Quebec ... beautiful place.
Then, on to Isle D'Orleans, for a quick ride-around ...
... But then, others left for home, and the weather cleared, so we went off to the fireworks (Loto de Quebec) ... found a free-viewing spot ... with all the locals ..
Best fireworks shots I've ever been able to capture ... primarily because we were so very close ..
Next day, leaving Quebec, going east, to St Anne de Beaupre ...
Continuing on the road - now at Baie St Paul (down in the distance - actually, down about 700 m) ...
At another Quebec park (Grands-Jardin) - again, just gorgeous ...
Next day, stopping for lunch, at Malbaie, beautiful scenery ..
Stopping at the Canada info centre (re: parc marins) - the lovely St Lawrence in the distance ...
Made it to Saquenay park (almost to Chicoutimi and Lac St Jean) - incredible place ..
Travelling around in the area - these shots are form a small village (Anse)
... and a lovely lookout in this area - way up ..
Now back to another little town ..
Now back to the Saguenay park itself ..
... one of the attractions of the park - a "cave" or sitting area, beneath a huge slab of rock ...
Back at the campsite ..
Next day, back to the main road, at St Simeon - a beautiful park operated by the town .. incredible sites, and all services, for $31 ...
Nex day, off to Tadousac area ... a (free) ferry ride required over the Saguenay River ..
In Tadousac ...
Just a short ways from the town, here's the cliffs of sand ... just amazing ...
Yup, I climbed halfway down .. and decided that was far enough, since the climb up on loose sand was quite difficult ...
Ok, we did it - another "whale-watch" ride ...
Our 2 days at St Simeon came to an end, and we had to move on, back towards home ..
Campgrounds at Trois-Rivieres
Next door is an "adventure park", with all kinds of attractions, one being this (very expensive to get in) water park ..
City viewing in Trois Rivieres
More of campground ... the section we were in ... not bad, all services for $30 (incl that smaller pool you saw).
The other part was not so nice, with gravel all over .. yuck..
FYI: here's a Kia van, pulling a 2-axle travel trailer (at least 24') - never thought it possible ..!
