We made it to the Eiffel tower for the New Year.
These pictures don't capture the craziness, unfortunately, There were fireworks going off all over the place and the city was packed with people.
New Years Eve chaos.
Eiffel Tower at Midnight.
The Sacré-Coeur Catholic basilica at the top of montmartre, the highest hill in Paris, and the area near our hostel. One of the coolest neighborhoods in the city.
Notre Dame, the best example of the origins of Gothic architecture, and the most impressive church I have ever seen, which is saying something.
Outside Notre Dame.
Not nearly the splendor of somewhere like St. Peters, but it wasn't needed to blow me away.
Leaving Notre Dame just as mass was starting.
Notre Dame.
The Seine River.
This guy was amazing.
The Louvre at night.
More of the Louvre.
And of course, the wine was fantastic.
Atop Notre Dame.
Halfway up the Eiffel tower.
Chris loving the engineering.
Ten minutes of every hour the tower puts on a lights show for the New Year.
The Paris metro.
Our neighborhood. It looked like a movie set.
Our neighborhood was full of artists.
The Moulin Rouge.
Smile on.
Tired after a long day of walking.
The last supper. After many sandwiches throughout the last few days, we decided to have a more tasty French dinner. Although in Paris, even the sandwiches are delicious.
My first taste of duck in my 20 years. And it was fabulous.
No words for this one...
Had to get some creme brulee.
One last trip downtown after dinner.
Our Metro stop.
On the road again... Dave to Freiburg, Chris to Sheffield, Kyle to Chicago and then Mexico, and me back to Madrid. It was the trip of a lifetime.
