Basic Mill layout, has lots of overhead clearance that's not currently being used, better to build it too big. . .
Yep, those are zip-ties and the classic overconstrained Z axis, works well though.
X-Y axis is just 2 roller bearing carriages from THK bearing and precision linear rail. They work well with relatively little slop, I'd be much better off with dual rails but it's a $500 upgrade I'm not going to do just yet.
As you can tell from the greasy finger prints and the shaky right side of the H, I was holding this down by hand :-)
Making snow, or wax chips. . . It's a good idea to run wax while "breaking in" anything home-made that's computer controlled when there's sharp objects involved.
