Sometimes, it pays to read with attention those wiring diagrams in the back of the Haynes books...
Drilling is fun!
The piece of plastic came out of the center console and I am guessing it was meant to hold some sort of the button for the high end model of the car... no matter, my Dremel took care of making it nice and flat.
Numbering your connectors is the ONE thing that will ensure a painless build.
LOOK MA, I MADE A MOLEX CONNECTOR!
Bending the pins on the toggle switches so it would fit.
Soldering the ground.
More grounding...
When in doubt, put more tin.
All nice and grounded!
Left, accessories switch, middle ON/fuel switch, right STARTER.
Let's hot glue all those pesky wires.
Mnyes.... semi clean...
Wrapping it up!
Tadaaa!
Same thing but "OFF"
Ignition cylinder jammed in the ON position.
Label label label! Also note the striped starter wires that I used to short to start the car.
More labeling....
Adding some easy connections here... I didn't want to bother building a molex connector.
Male version of those easy connectors.
Actually building a molex connector at the other end.
Add some shrink tubing for neatness...
Let's not forget to label...
here too... more labeling.
oh my oh my... ANOTHER molex connector!
Nice and tight with shrink tubing!
Alright one end hooked up to the dash, the other end hooked up to the switch board and....
TAAAADAAAAA.... oh wait....
THAT'S RIGHT *MORE* LABELS!
