"The smaller the deca the touchier they are....and so the smallest decas have handles that are 4" long....the bigger decas like the indoor have handles that are about 14" long....they need a much more stable hand....

Fast flying kites that are hard to break....they do everything that a rev can do in the hands of some one used to one....."

"This is one kite that I've never flown. How are they? Little touchy?"
Todd Copeland
"you can see how hard back these fold back if you zoom into this pic...pretty sharp!"

"it will create a hard fold area..so yes it would be a more natural area...."

"I have a paper pattern of the half based on the head.  Just need to modify it for the bottom center.  Given that Martin was very careful with all the grain orientation - the design was not based on maximum fabric use or scraps.  It could have been based on the width of the available fabric - but as I have it at about 36" that doesn't seem a limit."
Thomas Benjamin "...
"No problem.  That's very easy to add."

"This is a high angle stack....this pic is from below and to the side of it....
In my experience Yakkos are all high angle flyers.."
Rob Banks
"sorry, thought i had told you that one before! yes..there should be one..."
Rob Banks
"i agree that a single piece skin would probably be stronger, but until we know the shape of the "halves" that would be speculation as to why...could have been that Martin was using odd sized scraps left over from other projects..."
