Kinnaur-Charang La Climb (11,400 to 16,600 feet) in a day
India-Tibet Border -- Chitkul (11,400 feet) to Charang La Pass (17,500) is a demanding trek. Since, we failed to cross the pass from the other side (as part of our backpack plan), I decided to hike up the mountain alone. I started the hike from Chitkul (11,400 feet) at 7.00 am and reached very close to the pass at 16,600 feet (900 feet away) by the noon. Since there was no single soul in the area and there was too much risk involved in climbing last 900 feet, I decided to head back.
