USU Basketball Game November 7, 2009

Celina cheered at the Aggies Basketball Game! We got "hooked up" with free tickets for the rest of the family and enjoyed a great night out! (Thanks Jeremy!!)

2009 - Pioneer Day

Pioneer Day is a Utah State Holiday, July 24th every year. It is almost bigger than the 4th of July! Stephane and I decided that in honor of all pioneers, we would spend the weekend living like they did. No phones, electricity, or running water. We found a cabin in Montana that was perfect for our Pioneering weekend. May Creek Cabin out side of Wisdom, Montana. We had to hike 2 and half miles into the cabin. It was a great weekend, despite the mice!!

2009 MidSummer Nights Dream

Edith Bowen Lab School 5th Graders Present: Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Nights Dream". The kids did four shows today with alternating cast members... Celina ended up being in all 4 shows! She was exhausted by days end!

Celina Room

So last weekend we decided to rip up the carpet in Celina's room (was becoming a favorite peepee spot for the dogs...gross!). We layed a faux wood linoleum floor and I can tell you my knees are still killing me! We decided to take the opportunity to make a few "upgrades" to her room (she has been begging for a makeover).

EBLS City

Joseph and Celina's elementary school worked with some architects from Salt Lake City to design a their own city. Three other elementary schools partcipated and they put assembled the whole city in the school cafeteria.

Nathan Sick Day

Nathan decided to run a 104.5 Fever a week or so ago. Took him to the doctor and the doc sent us the ER. THey thought it was possible meningitis .... $5k later, he is diagnosed with a "virus" and sent home...2 days later, he was back at school!

At their new school, the kids are required to do a research project and give a lecture on their project. Joseph did his research project on "Why it is important for kids to read fantasy books". I can see it now, Dr. Joseph Ingram, Professor of Literature...the new classics!

March 2009 Snow Storm for Spring Break!

Well, we were supposed to get 3-5 inches over night, and then 3-5 during the day and top out no more than 12 inches... We are now at 18 inches and its still coming down!! 10 Inches between 1am and 7am! and then another 8 in the past 5 hours. LOVE UTAH SPRINGS!

Deer Hunting 2008

Stephane & Nathan went up the mountain for deer hunting this weekend. They beared the Freezing nights and warm days. They saw a moose and a few nice deers. Quite a few forrest grouse too.

1 Week After Device...

Okay, one week post device and Celina is doing alright! She went to the orthodontist last week and he said we can quit turning it now! (that is 1 week early). Her mouth responded very well to the device. Now we wait 5 months and they will take it out. Look how much her teeth shifted!!

Braces - Part II

So Celina finished the "installation" process today. She now has all her brackets and wires on the top teeth as well as a spreading device wired into the roof of her mouth. Do you need a reason to make your kids stop sucking their thumb? Take a look at the medieval torture device in Celina's mouth! She will have to wear this for 5 months! It interferes with speech, swallowing, and chewing. (Not to mention the bill for braces is $4,500.00!!! Thank goodness for triple insurance coverage!)

Celina woke up this morning with a swollen eye. Weird! Looks a lot like Joseph's Swollen ear...(look at their step mom Angie's gallery!) If the swelling is not down tomorrow morning, off to the doctor she goes so yet another medical anomally can be recorded!

The reasons we LOVE utah. We have a beautiful 1 hour drive through the mountains to get to one of the most beautiful crystal clear lakes we have ever seen. Why would we want to live in 100% humidit when we can go to the lake in the end of june and have a 75 degree day with clear beaches and warm water? Sorry mom, we love it here!

July 2008 Wasatch Cache National Forest - Uinta Mountains

Steph and I FINALLY left Logan and went on a little road trip to the Uinta mountains. Armed with Camera, dogs, sleeping bags and food for the weekend we headed down I-15 South in search of an adventure for the weekend. Well...not much excitement, but we did explore UT-150 from Kamas, UT to Evanston, WY - "Mirror Lake Scenic Byway" We stopped at most every point of interest.

Landscaping

Today we had a HUGE landscaping project. Everyone chipped in to help with aerating the lawn, tilling the strip by the road, shoveling the mulch, and laying the landscape timbers. Celina was the biggest help of the day! So she got to chose the restaurant for dinner. We went to Iggy's Sports Grill (they have awesome kids sundae's included!!) It was a LONG rough day but we got alot acomplished and now we are all exhausted!

The kids had to go to Salt Lake City with the other young kids (and a few adults) for the Rite of Election. The Cathedral is absolutely amazing. I have never seen a cathedral with so many colors!

Candlemass 2008

40 Days past christmas, the day Jesus was presented at the Temple. In France, the day is celebrated with a candlelight dinner of Crepes. Needless to say, the kids THOROUGHLY enjoyed the crepes with chocolate and jams! (and of course playing with the wax candles!)
