2010 07-25 (Road Race in VA*)
The RR started at 9 AM which was nice because it wasn't too hot. An average temp of 85 wasn't bad! The course consisted of two 15 mile circuits followed by a two mile hill climb at the end. The peleton stayed together for around the first five miles or so and moved stupidly fast to the hill at the back of the circuit. The hill, as I suspect it would resulted in selection. Over the top, I could still see chase group one and I languished for about three miles solo trying to catch it. They remained just a few hundred meters up the road the entire time but they, being a group of six, proved ungapable for me, a solo rider. Just when I'd nearly lost all hope, the remains for the climb miles back when housing by me. They were three and they were moving. I hopped on and stuck with them for a bit.
