Bed Races
The 43rd Annual Bed Race:
Theme for 2008 was "Transport through the ages"
Each team provides a bed, decorated in the theme for the year and sponsored for a named charity. This event starts with the competition for the Best Decorated Bed followed by the Procession of Beds, Bands and Floats through the town. After this Bed race starts.
Teams consist of six persons of the same sex to propel the bed and one person of the opposite sex on the bed as a passenger.
Prizes are awarded in following nominations:
- Fastest Mens/Ladies Team
- Best Decorated Bed
- Most Entertaining Mens/Ladies Team
- Fastest Junior Team
- Fastest New Team
- Best Sponsored Team
