Cupid's Wine Tasting

The Inaugural Wine Tasting to raise funds for high school senior scholarships was held at the Surf City Welcome Center. It was such a success due to the generous sponsors: Swingbridge Beer and Wine, The Bagel Bakery, Jebby's on 17, The Village Cafe and Englese's Restaurants and David Pell on guitar. Thank you everyone else who attended, provided food or donations of prizes. Looking forward to next year.

2010 Halloween

The Kiwanis Club's 5th Annual Trick-or-Treat in the park was another huge success. About 30 vendors and more than 1,000 costumes were seen at Hampstead Kiwanis Park from 5-8pm Halloween night. There was a DJ this year to keep people moving around the vendor tables getting candly, free hayrides, games, bounce houses, and a costume contest for all ages. So many creative costumes showed up. Kiwanis and Lions Club Golf Tournament 2010

The Kiwanis and Lions Clubs joined forces for their annual Golf Tournaments to raise funds for high school seniors at Topsail and Heide Trask High Schools. With perfect weather and a great bunch of golfers, Belvedere Country Club became a perfect location for fun and fundraising. We thank all of the sponsors and volunteers who made the event happen.

Earth Day Festival

Pender County and Big Sweep helped coordinate the Inaugural Earth Day Festival on April 17 after the Plant-A-Seed presentation. Great music, fun for the kids and vendors to educate us all on a beautiful day.

Plant-A-Seed

The final fundraising event for the Plant-A-Seed project was a pancake breakfast. Following the breakfast, the Kiwanis Club turned over the reigns of the gardens to the local Hampstead schools. The funds raised from the breakfast will build the final garden which will be wheelchair accessible. So glad for the wonderful weather and great turnout.

Lowe's Heros

Lowe's installed our first fitness station today: Lowe's Leap Posts. The holes were dug and the posts set in cement. Next step will be mulch and edging but also some pull-up bars in the same area. Still need a sponsor for that though. Thank you Lowe's for a great team effort and lots of laughs on a cold December day.
