Mike and Stefanie stopped by on Tuesday the 12th, to meet Caedmon and see where Brendan would live. Turns out that Stefanie was already in labor, but didn't know it.
After they left our house Tuesday evening, they never got home. Instead, they ended up at Northwest Hospital, where they called us the next morning.
We got there as soon as we could. They had tried to stop the labor, but Brendan was on his way.

Immediately after Brendan was born, the doctor disappeared, then came back with a guitar. Snatches of John Denver songs soon emanated from the delivery room.

It took Brendan about 15 minutes or so to get the hang of sucking.
The hospital gave us a room of our own.
Brendan did NOT care for his first bath.
When Caedmon came to the hospital the next day, he sat on our laps and the nurses brought his little brother into the room to meet him.
Caedmon was generally happy to meet his brother, but he did NOT want him on his lap.
Anne Ross, Mike's (adoptive) mother.
Keith, Brendan's uncle.
Caedmon enjoyed holding Brendan's bottle.

Our families began flooding in by Thursday evening.
Even in a set of newborn clothes, Brendan was swimming
We finally got to take Brendan home from the hospital on Friday morning, two days after he was born.
