"I just noticed that for a few weeks old lens, I have lightly marred the plastic splines on the focus ring of the lens - the barrel is plastic with nice chrome finish but it does not stand up to abrasion - on the other hand, if it was chromed metal, that would not stand up to abrasion as well. It's inexpensive for an f/2, it is 45mm on a crop sensor so the field of view is nice for portrait. And it is sharp."
