Oysters are harvested from just beyond where the boats are in this picture, and then brought back to the farm to be stored temporarily in these concrete pools.

Lunch! These oysters have won mostly gold and some silver medals from the minister of fishing and agriculture in Paris for the last 10 years --- and they're only 12 euro a dozen with bread, butter and lemon.

We went sailing on Tip Top One, a very nice catamaran! The trip went around the basin of Arcachon, past the dune of Pyla and lasted for 2 and a half hours.

Tchanquee Cabanes - these abandoned houses in the basin were once home to oyster guards who watched over the farms.
