Whoo! Land's End! We were a little late, planning on leaving as it was getting dark, rather than waiting until it was inavigably dark.
We found the signpost!
Signpost again.
First stop at Whiddon Down, about 20miles before Exeter. We got here at about 8, and this stretch was supposed to be mostly free of snow and ice and cold. It wasn't. Joel handily parked such that I couldn't pay for the petrol.
Still at Whiddon Down. This might've been the snow we left early to avoid. We were aiming for dinner at the Little Chef, and everything behind the wall was icy...
Gah. Ice. We stopped for the little chef, but only the petrol station had been cleared of ice.
Our stop at Stonehenge. This was about halfway (about 220 miles from Land's End) and we got here at midnight, which put us as about exactly halfway through. It was ruddy chilly, and no-one had deigned to wreck the atmosphere of Stonehenge with street lighting, which was a shame.
Still Stonehenge. Joel's off trying to subvert the security while I weigh up whether or not I can get away with stopping my engine.
That's a messy, er dashboard? Took the photo for the temperature which, at that point, was the lowest so far at a stop.
Here's us cheating - Winchester services on the M4 at a little after 1am.
Whoo! Trafalgar square! Got here at about 4am, and London was just waking up. It was an odd time to be here, slightly christmassy, very businesslike...
Wee stop on the A12. I might've had too much energy drink. We'd also noticed it was Sunday night by now, and so everything was closed...
Whoo! Lowestoft! We got there while dawn was happening, but buggered off for an urgent breakfast. That snowfall is pretty much what we'd ridden through for the last 30 miles or so. There was no grit past Ipswich.
Bikes on the trailer home.
Ruddy Joel and his ruddy photography skills... This one's available in big.
Our route, with the arbitrarily chosen waypoints - Stonehenge and the tree in Trafalgar Square. About 440 miles, Google reckons 10 hours.
