Now that the two remaining vegetable beds have been cleared, I can start planting winter veggies. Not much sun this side of the house, so I guess we will have to see how they do.

My stags horn ferns irrigated with drip. I decided in High School that I had to have one of these plants some day, and now I have two - what a lucky girl I am.

My own personal vegetable gardening success story was being able to pick fresh salad leaves over the holidays. They tasted yummy and it felt so good to be eating fresh salad to balance all the rich food of the season.
This Mexican Weeping Bamboo (Otatea acuminata aztecorum) provides a great screen from the traffic on the corner of my street, and the homes beyond. One of the well behaved clumping bamboos, it is very drought tolerant, and gets to about 15ft tall
