The Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo
Classy
Some stairs at a small beach in Montana De Oro State Park just south west of San Luis Obispo
That same small beach
I had never seen seaweed in those colors before. There were also tons of small rocks in all sizes worn smooth over the years and in many different colors. They were perfect for skipping.
A sharp contrast in rock colors. I wonder what causes this change. Maybe that's as far as the water goes? I would think if that were the case, it would be more of a transition.
North side of the beach
The south side of the beach
A mother and her 2 or 3 young children had spent the morning making art out of the rocks and seaweed around. This one caught my eye because it stuck out in the giant patch of dark colored rocks.
I stopped by Morro Bay for lunch.

This is the gas station in Gorda, CA, the most expensive gas station in the U.S. In their defense, it is full service, that must be some hell of a service. I stopped by to get a mocha from the guy at the Espresso cart. He was a quirky character dressed like he was a biker at one time. He was a skinny guy with a long white pony tail and thinning white facial hair. He has grease under his finger nails and never stopped singing/humming/whistling/talking to himself except to converse with customers. He rode to work on a schwin bicycle retrofitted with a small, 30cc motor. He was someone I would have liked to sit down and talk with. The Mocha was made with a package of Nestle instant hot cocoa, espresso, milk, and chocolate syrup, it was sweet as hell. His mannerisms gave him a look of having no clue what he was doing yet he was very meticulous about every move that he did make.
This is between Monterey and Santa Cruz. I wouldn't want to work in this field.
Walking path out to Half Moon Bay
Me sitting and watching the ocean
And a dolphin showed up
And then another showed up
There was a horse trail too, which made for a lot of horse manure on all the paths, not pleasant when biking

I offered to take some peoples' picture, which ended up with this guy wanting a picture with us
And this girl wanting a picture.
And Krissy wanting a picture. I am pretty sure that my buddy Tom (big hair to the left) is who they wanted a picture with and I am just the pity appearance. I told them this and they laughed and denied it knowing it was true.

Since Russian River Brewery was not my final destination (I had another hour and a half of driving to do), I made sure not to test my limits at the bar. I brought a bottle of Pliny the Elder IPA (a favorite among my friends in SD) to the hotel. Besides, I've never seen Pliny in bottles, I had to.

Anderson Valley Brewing Company brewery tour
Anderson Valley Brewing Company brewery tour. Their brand new canning machine, something they just started doing. They said it is necessary as new laws regarding glass bottles in areas such as on boats and at beaches are coming into effect.
Anderson Valley Brewing Company brewery tour. Their hop refrigerator, AKA heaven.
Anderson Valley Brewing Company brewery tour. Hope refrigerator.
Anderson Valley Brewing Company brewery tour. Their bar and store. I liked their tap set-up a lot. It allows for the bartender to pour beer while looking at the customer and not have the bar all cluttered up.
Around Anderson Valley Brewing Company grounds. They were growing fresh hops and had a frisbee golf course you could reserve.
The friendly bear (you'll see him on their labels)
Had to get my picture in front of the sign, they are one of my favorite breweries.
If you look to the left, you will notice fresh hops being harvested.

Not sure why I took this picture. I didn't spend any time here more then just to stretch my legs. I guess I just liked the view?
I loved this sign, had to take a picture of it. If you enlarge it, it says "Welcome to Kyburz / Now Leaving Kyburz"
Lunch and Journal catch up at Lake Tahoe before heading to Nevada
This damn cat would not leave me alone from the minute I showed up to the camp ground and that was BEFORE I started cooking. Stupid night to decide to cook tuna...
