Alternative Break Service Trips 2011

More than 30 Gannon University students chose to devote their week of spring break, Feb. 28 through March 4, 2011, to community service and volunteerism. Four groups traveled to Immokalee, Florida, New York City, New Orleans and San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

New Residence Hall Construction Fall 2010

The new residence hall will open for Fall 2011 and provide suite-style living for 293 freshmen and upperclassmen. The building will feature a convenience store, fitness and laundry areas, community kitchens and social and study lounges. You can see the live Web cam at www.gannon.edu.

Preview GU 2010

The Preview GU program for welcoming new students to Gannon provides the University an opportunity to acquaint you with some aspects of campus life. Its purpose is to create a common focus and a sense of belonging for students as they begin their college experience at Gannon. The program offers students an opportunity to make social and academic connections and foster continued involvement and participation in curricular and co-curricular activities.

National Catholic Colleges Week

Gannon University celebrated Catholic higher education during National Catholic Colleges Week, held the week of Feb. 22, 2010. The week is intended to highlight the accomplishments of Catholic colleges and celebrate the role of Catholic colleges in society. Events included Mass in the Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel, a student presentation on faith development, a community luncheon, Faith Field Day, an alumni pregame reception and home basketball games versus local rival Mercyhurst College, and a tour of St. Peter Cathedral.

Patient Simulation Center

The Patient Simulation Center is a fully-staffed, 5,800-sq.-ft. education and training facility, developed in consultation with staff of the Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation Education and Research (WISER), an arm of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). This specialized learning center utilizes several high-fidelity human patient imulators to provide students from multiple health professions disciplines the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting.

A.J. Palumbo Academic Center

Located at 824 Peach St., this building is home to the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, faculty offices and classrooms, and the Honors College and Gannon Bookstore.

Located at 150 W. 10th St., the Robert H. Morosky Academic Center was formally opened in the Fall 2008 semester following a complete renovation and houses the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences.

Erie Technology Incubator

The Erie Technology Incubator, located at 130 W. 8th St., was completely renovated during 2007-08 and held its grand opening in September 2008.

Zurn Science Center

Zurn Science Center is located at 143 W. 7th St. and lies in the heart of campus. A recent $18.5 million renovation was completed in the Fall 2009 semester.

Harborview Apartments

Harborview Apartments, located on the corner of W. 6th and Sassafras streets, serves as one of Gannon University's student residences as well as the location of the Health and Counseling Center and the Office of Police and Safety. Both office spaces underwent complete renovations over the summer in 2009 and moved in during the fall semester.
