Google Earth image of route. Height doubled for effect.
And so we start. Not long into the walk. Track here is dry but you still have to watch your footing as it's rough. Gradually climbing up to Ned's Saddle
Once passed the Saddle it really gets steep. The rocky track zig zags up the mountain. The burning was from Black Saturday (Feb 2009) fires.
Made it. Rocky ascent literally behind me. Over that rocky bit and it's a very, very steep face.
Probably only a few metres from the last shot. Looking down on the road from Buxton (L) to Alexandra (R). Lunch on top of one of those slabs. First ever (photo taken with phone, then emailed on the spot) done right here. Even got a reply whilst still up there.
As I was saying, steep drop aways
Looking S from near The Cathedral. Pretty rugged.
Sure I got up on this and leant over... (not)
S towards Marysville. The burnt bush is now lighter in color.
