'iron board structure' , thinking of domestic objects as sculptural ones.
detail
Setting up of 'Ironing Day Volcano' installation. We continuously assembled pieces differently to produce more possibilities on the overall view of the installation.
'Soft Chandelier' made by Paloma Ayala.
detail of 'Soft Chandelier', all tied sponges and pink.
Connective strings (as tissue), in the making of 'Gentle Mind, Spine of Iron'.
'Gentle Mind, Spine of Iron', yarn and wire rings tied to iron board.
View of complete piece: 'Ironing Day Volcano'
We worked different pieces during 5 days, when we could use the space.
Genevieve setting up "Clothesline'
In 'Laundry with a Friend', we tried to introduce funny elements to the works as part of the concept. Here's a plastic dinosaur among the hanging clothes. The triangular shape of the gallery also made us think of the clothesline as a shrine: we thought to produce a shiny-central 'holly' piece to finish this installation.
We also played with making a kind of choreography with the sleeves.
'Chromosome XX', uses framed upholstery fabrics, ribbons, plastic flowers and other craft objects to build up a wall of domesticity. We included soft sculptural objects made of trash bags and stuffed fabric.

more examples of material we used.
Towers of plastic ware.
'Tower of Power', plastic plates and tea tables with a painted background.

'Target', decorated rings by Genevieve Waller.
Detail of the materials.
'Bunny'. Paloma made it. She tried to add feminine colors and kitschy elements to it, but it turned out to be bloody and disturbing. Better luck next time.
More soft sculpture, 'Whale', made by Paloma. This one languishes on flowers and iron board.
The first of many pillows with holes.
We love them as wearable sculptures.
Paloma, Genevieve and stuff. (Guess how many car trips we made...)
