SPC Vaisakhi 2010 @ Swinburne
Swinburne's Hawthorn campus was brought to life with traditional Indian performances, music and food as part of the annual Vaisakhi celebrations.
The Swinburne Punjabi Club hosted the event which marks the beginning of a new Hindu solar year and celebrates the establishment of Khalsa in April 1699.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Young opened the celebrations in the Hawthorn Atrium which was also attended by representatives of the Victorian Multicultural Commission.
The festivities included a Bollywood DJ, Bhangra and Gidha dance performances, henna tattooing and free Indian food.
