GWHC Bill Tucker Memorial Drive
The Bill Tucker Memorial drive started with a bar-b-que at George Williams farm at St Kew last saturday evening. About 25-30 people gathered in one of the cattle sheds to eat and drink, the evening finishing approx 10.30pm.
We assembled the next morning in much kinder weather and left the yard with 9 turnouts at 11.15am. A pleasant drive up lanes and across open fields with a short spell down the main A389 towards Wadebridge and then down to the St Kew Inn where they treated us and the 50 spectators to Bucks Fizz and canapes. Here Marilyn, Bills widow got onboard his old carriage and finished off her 83rd birthday by being driven back to Sanmark, Georges farm for yet more to eat. A wonderful day and £300.00 was raised for the Precious Lives cancer appeal
