"Photinia.  These make great hedges, but they get big.  If you don't want to be whacking them back hard every year, get them away from the house and put them where you want a 15-foot-tall hedge.  Be careful the first time you trim them, a few people are very allergic.  If you get a rash, just have someone else handle them."
