"Hey Steve: how's the layout coming? Inquiring minds want to know..."
Trevor Marshall
"Matt,
Sorry for the late reply.
This is my opinion only, and I don't mean to be critical.
The Snot out of the jar is way too thick, It goes on way to heavy, and gives very poor results.
I put it on the loco straight out of the jar as the instructions imply. The result, a very rough running, poor conductive, crappy crawling loco. I tried everything to make it work like it should. Result was frustration.
I regrouped, removed all traces of the snot. I found two big properties. Number one the Snot is very tractive, the ultimate in traction goop. Number two the Snot is a huge insulator, no current will pass the goop.
The solution!
Thin the Snot with water. The thinner, the better result.
A very very very thin layer of watered down Snot to the tread, NOT the flange of two drivers does the trick. Leaving the flange of the driver clean increases conductivity of the tractive driver.
When applied in this manner, the Snot is awesome! It works! The locos climb a vertical track.
I think the advertising is very deceptive, but with lots of testing, and playing around, it is a viable solution.
I was faced with junking this entire layout, if I couldn't make this crappy Blackstone equipment climb the grade.
The snot saved me, but it wasn't easy.
If you would like a sample of the snot, I will send you some, just say the word.
Regards,
Steve J.

"How does the BS affect performance (pulling power, pickup, tracking). Easy to apply? Is it self leveling, or do you have to get it right with the brush?"

It is there now. And soon it will have a right graphic that shows an iPod not an iPhone. I forgot to change that the first time"

"I just talked with Shawn. Made sure the design is right. It is too. It is a laser cut set of 080 acrylic shims that the buyer assembles. It is cut to match the iCar's front opening. It is so new he hasn't had time to post it to the website yet. I'll get him a 3d of it so he can. I'm guessing the cost will be a couple bucks.

If you can get me the tech specs for the Blackberry I can see if it will work in an iCar type set up. Not all phones will for various reasons."

"I was not aware of the iCar being able to adapt to the iPod Touch! Where can I find out the specs on the iCar? I need to READ. BBcar = Blackberry Car!"
