On the trail to the Sun Gate
Intipunku is the main entrance to Machu Picchu from the Inca Trail. We hiked up here from Machu Piccu for the view, rather than hiking the entire Inca Trail.
On the way up to Intipunku, the Sun Gate.
A clear view from above,
We saw several of these little guys.
If you hike up to the Sun Gate you gotta hike back down.
The Temple of the Condor. The head and body are on the ground in front, the rocks behind form the wings.
The Intihuatana stone is a precise indicator of the date of the two equinoxes.
Stonework at Machu Piccu - looks almost like parts were carved out of butter.
