Somehow managed to find a parking spot on the mountain.
That's a lot of switchbacks... still only halfway up.
Surprisingly good croissants (and for €2.50 each, I would hope so).
Some last minute road painting.
Getting a little help up the mountain.
There were by far too many Aussies on the course.
Devil!
We spotted a few of these guys in brand new (as in, can't even buy it in stores) Garmin-Chipotle team kit. Curious.
Crazy Germans.
Turns out they're all sponsors and VIPs for the team. Also, that's Jonathan Vaughters in leaning against his bike.
Bosch!
We determined that wearing bike jerseys at all times would make carrying things so much easier.
Lots of cops to keep the crowd under control (mostly they walked back and forth and picked up trash that had slipped passed the barriers).
Photographer who got Jacob on the Chipotle website (http://www.slipstreamsports.com/photos/album/72157605959964728/photo/2697695875/Tour-de-France-Chipotle-burrito-fan-Alpe-dHuez-Tour-de-France-stage-17.html)
Start of the caravan (aka, free swag coming our way)
Mmm... slightly warm red-wine on the slopes of Alpe D'Huez.
Our neighbors along the barriers, and competition for swag.
Here they come.
Carlos Sastre puts nearly 2 minutes into the competition on this climb.
The "first group" follows behind.
Vande Velde has such a crazy look on his face.
C'mon, you're in a car... that's why it so much easier for you.
Chipotle!
Here comes the peloton.
My favorite, Will Frishkorn, in the back of the picture.
Nice Coke advertisement there.
Getting down the mountain took quite a while.
At least this rowdy group behind us kept things interesting.
We picked up some fellow Chipotle fans (and their dogs).
