Small woodworking projects

Some of the best woodworking projects are those which allow you to not only use your wood scraps but projects that can be finished in a limited amount of time. A few examples from the last couple of months. Although I did not forge the blades on the knife projects I did everything else and still feel that I can say "I made it".

Enchanted Valley

Darrel and I on a 27 mile round trip up to Enchanted Valley in Olympic National Park. A long slog for only one night but well worth it for the abundant wildlife and waterfalls.

Lake Creek

The Park officially calls it the "Heart O' The Forest" trail now, but I still call it Lake Creek, the name it had 35 years ago when I first started hiking it. The park website lists 20+ trees down. This was very inaccurate as I found only a handful that included a behemoth 5' fir.

Cat Creek Primitive Trail

A nice 2 day loop going up the Sol Duc river trail to Appleton Pass and following the Cat Creek way trail around to Swimming Bear Lake. We ended the loop by going across the High Divide and down past Deer Lake to return to the trailhead.
