An Evening at Wilde Lake
It was an awesome night at Wilde Lake last night. There in the middle of suburbia, surrounded by houses and condos and joggers and strollers, were great blue and black-crowned night herons, blue winged teal and mallards (with babies), Canada geese (with babies, just hatched today), spotted and solitary sandpipers, and, of course, red-winged blackbirds, barn swallows and various LBBs. Oh, yeah, and a hooded merganser out in the middle of lake. Ah, Wilderness!
