The day began with musical birthday cards from Grandma & Grandpa, and cartoon ones from Tio. Josh loved how Daffy's arm pumped when the card opened.
The musical cards went over HUGE with boys boys, mainly because they were so funny.
Josh's card includes the line, “Don't forget the mountain goat!” Followed, of course, by a singing mountain goat. (Days later, it still draws big laughs.)
We got to have lunch w/the boys at school. After they told us about other parents bringing their kids McDonald's on their birthdays, we gave in to the peer pressure.
When we arrived, Jake was in the office getting a different color birthday ribbon. Couldn't have the same as Josh and wanted to pick from the entire color spectrum available.
Passing out the plates to go with the birthday brownies baked by Zac and Mommy.
Say cheese!
Now make a goofy face (if you couldn't tell)
Don't forget the mountain goat! Joshy showing off that card to his class. (Video of it is next.)
As part of their birthday celebration, we gave the teacher a picture from each year of their lives. The captions were dictated by the boys. Next two files will give you more info ...
A guided tour of Jake's birthday memory page. Remember, captions were from Jake.
A guided tour of Josh's birthday memory page. Remember, captions were from Josh.
Feel free to sing along.
The night before, we had Mother's Day dinner with the family.
And birthday cake for dessert!
The candles on the cake were easy. The candelabra, not so much.
