"Arrey what makes u think I am not in India! In fact I stay quite close to one of your viewing haunts - damdama lake. Always wanted to come.. but logistics difficult at night. You got the professional photographer part right :)"
Priyanka Sachar
"Hi Priyanka, I see you are not living in India and u are a professional photographer, it would have been great to have you onboard Astronomica - the amateur astronomer wing of SPACE where the astronomicans could have shown you telescope views and you could in turn teach them about cameras and go for astrophotograohy with them :)"
Vikrant Narang
"i see what u mean..can see the white glow under the moon. I've vaguely seen the moon through a telescope.. more through high zoom images only.. I don't even have a telescope.. sigh.. I am someone who just loves watching the night sky & has very basic knowledge about it"
Priyanka Sachar
"I mean, the hills or crater Walls are not that high as they seem, there is a lot of light falling on the ccd sensors in those bright areas that it's spilling into adjacent pixels making them seem bigger than they are. Carefully check the circle of the moon, isn't it looking a little strange near the bottom and near the cusps, it's looking raised due to the same reason."
Vikrant Narang
"Of course they are, what's so impossible about it :p seems like u haven't seen the moon through a telescope yet...it's exaggerated because of overexposure."
Vikrant Narang
"Seriously?!! I typed that initially and then deleted it thinking that wouldn't be possible at all! Not with such distinctive granularity .. for that the hills would have to be really really huge, right?"
Priyanka Sachar
"Isn't it amazing Priyanka? The jagged edges you see are actually hills and crater Walls on moon. Though they seem a little exaggerated due to the intentional overexposure."
Vikrant Narang
"How come the crescent is jagged? what are those shapes?"
Priyanka Sachar
