Chattanooga Choo Choo "Formal Gardens" -- just like a train station might have looked 100 years ago (did they have koi ponds in America 100 years ago??)
3 sweet girls just getting into Rock City
This place is full of little passages like this one -- Kendy kept saying, "oh, scary!"
Probably 2 miles worth of pretty pathways like this with very unusual (but natural) rock formations strewn about
There were little walls like this around almost all of the paths -- sometimes on the other side were 2 ft drops, other times there were 40-200 foot drops! I love that places here seem to feel a little less obligated to protect the foolish from themselves.
The swinging bridge -- nobody was scared except me! Maybe my footsteps hit a natural frequency or something but it really started to move as I walked across it...
Neat rock bridges all over the place
I've seen seven states! (maybe, hard to tell which state the haze is hovering over)
"Dadda, can-a you believ-a this-a view?"
Lots of places to rest and enjoy the scenery.
Gubbs wanted to be in the top hole, but she couldn't get up there by herself, so I positioned the camera to still get her in the picture.
Lots of full size barns around here painted just like this one. I bet 90% of the advertising the last 20 miles coming into Chattanooga was for Rock City -- almost made me not want to come (but we're glad we did).
Whatever this tree is, it's beautiful.
Like how we covered up the year on the date there? Lets us re-use the picture again next year.
Not sure how this fit in, but it was unique.
The "Incline railway", a train that goes straight down Lookout Mountain
I suppose the engineers were trying to make the ride down smooth and safe, which it is -- so I guess they did a good job, but it made the ride a little boring. Pretty views, though.
More pretty views.
Kendy -- "Mom, I'm in a cheeseburger!"
Ruby Falls cave -- cool formations, there were lots of them as cool as these.
The actual falls -- as always, pictures don't do it justice.
A neat little playground on the backend of the Ruby Falls tour -- terrific idea, let the parents rest and eat while the kids wear off whatever energy they've got left.
"Dad, wook-it!" ("look-it!")
Despite all the neat stuff we saw today, "Hey, kids, what's your favorite thing we've done on this trip?" "Swimming pool!"
