When test fitting, I had a slight clearance problem with the gear mount. I chose to just grind a 1/16" off and repaint.
Didn't need to take much off.
Gear mount spacers Needed to countersink because the skin is flush riveted.
Looking down at the right mount clamped in place.
Per the drawings, the vertical rivet holes are NOT suppose to line up.
Needed to use an close-quarter angle drill to get in here.
Drilling the mount holes from underneath using the skin's holes for placement.
There is a pretty wide lee-way for the drilling of this mount hole. I'll put a little tension on it and move it out to make it easier to place the spacers in between.
Some of the mount holes can be accessed from outside with an angle drill.
Right gear all cleco'd in place.
After marking off near-center of the mount hole, a pilot hole was drilled and follewed by a narrow step bit, and then a big, wide step bit.
Not a bad starter hole. Just need to clean up with a 1/2 round file.
