Here is the Sonex-supplied tri-gear mount brace, welded and painted. This was pretty painless...except for having to pull the engine!
Setting the angles of the ailerons prior to final rigging adjustment.
Measuring the distance. The clamp on the far right acts as a "counterbalance" with the fulcrum being the white Delrin block.
Setting the desired angle for the bellcrank.
Looking at the finished connection.
Out of focus, but showing how I compared and set the angle of the bellcrank.
Making up a mounting plate for the RDAC. I wanted it removeable to make wiring easier.
RDAC mounted in place.
By removing the lower piano wire, the RDAC swings out completely.
I decided to order and use the harder Sonex motor mounts instead of the Jabiru supplied mounts.
Another view of the welded tri-gear brace.
Sort of a hokey way to temporarily support the motor. The weight is resting on the sump, but it's balanced by the side boards.
Bringing the motot mount into position with the motor sitting on the table.
I had to remake and redrill the right spar. This time it came through perfectly...even with room for a shoulder washer.
I didn't even have to drill out the rivet on the side.
