Early Morning Thunder
Dreamsicle Land
My baby in her jammies! Getting ready to ride! Coffee? Check!
Gotta love Jo'Blanco! Our home on wheels.
Headed up the Red Canyon Bike Path.
7 miles of scenery to start the day!
Red Canyon is where we be.
At the Coyote Hollow Trailhead outside of Bryce Canyon NP.
Thunder Mt. Trail this away.
Starting out up high... pine forest mostly.
But the earth has this strange color...
Rolling along mostly on the downhill level.
Starting to get interesting.
Dropping down into the little canyon draws...
...and up the other side. I see Red!
Still up in the pines! But getting interesting.
Down, down, down we go!
...and back up, weeeee....
Getting pretty...
Real Pretty!
Really nice trail, but wouldn't want to ride this wet!
Trees are getting weird!
And we have some rock out croppings...
There's some cliffs!
Taking in the sites...
Welcome to my whirld!
Interesting land forms ahead!
Hope it doesn't fall on ya!
Not that hot, but the shade feels good!
Window on a wonderful world!
Orange as can be!
Trail is getting to be really awesome!
Bikes in repose!
Can't wait to see what else is in store for us!
Amazing place this Thunder Mt!
Yeah baby!
Up on the ridge line above Red Canyon. We're headed down there!
Into the valley of the Dreamsicles!
Doesn't get much better than this for riding!
Wee wee wee, all the way home!
A couple grunty little climbs.
But mostly all downhill!
Bike's eye view!
I'm melting!
Simply amazing!
The back of a man's head...
Wow!
What an interesting place this Thunder Mt.
Down into the Martian Valley.
Rolling along...
...past the Zen Garden.
I've run out of words for captions!
At the bottom of the Canyon! 17 miles or so all together but it took 3 hours... I mean why rush!
Pano from up high.
Pano at the entrance to the Red Canyon.
Heading down into the main canyon draw!
The Cassidy-Losee Loop I did in April of 2007! Notice the storm clouds! It had snowed 3 days before.
Beautiful area across the road from the Thunder Mt. Trail.!
Part of the Red Canyon.
Parking area and start of the ride.
The trail looks dry, but it's deceiving as I would find out.
Not much mud on the tires! Just nice and tacky... yeah tacky!
Similar terrain as Thunder Mt.
Still no issues with moisture. Yet!
Bike eye view.
You do climb up onto a mesa into the pines.
....and drop back down.
A bit more variation of colors over here.
Oh boy... 6 miles in and the dry surface of the trail starts to lift up and bond to the tires. Its weird because the surface is dry but the lower layers are wet and cause the mud to lift.
Time to carry the bike. I literally could not roll the wheels because they would clump so bad. I had to carry the bike for about 2 miles. Not fun!
The sh!t stick!
...good for clearing mud from the fork....
...and the tires... maybe I'll patent this!
You can see snow on the north facing slopes. Too early for riding this place.
But it's pretty none the less. The road out is down below.
Once on the road things were a bit better.
Castio Canyon
Right in amongst the hoodoos. Gorgous!
Easter Island transplant.
My poor bike sure took a hit! Note to self... Don't ride this area until Memorial Day!
