Songkran (Thai New Year)
Thai New Years is in mid April the hottest time of the year in Thailand. Originally during Songkran a little water is poured over you to clean your soul of bad spirts, a little white powder is put on your forehead to sacre the spirits and keep them from coming back. During the past years it has gotten out of hand and people get drenched and white powder goes everywhere. Mostly tourists and young Thais. Older people stay home.
