Concordes at Christmas on the Hill

The Concordes joined the parade for Christmas on the Hill 2009, along with many other businesses, charities and individuals from the community. Cold, but very worthwhile - with a well-received demonstration to follow in the Salvation Army. A good time had by all, as ever.

Concordes at Bishop Sutton

Today the Concordes performed a two hour set (including a tea break!) for the Arthritis Care charity. There was a good 60-strong audience, a raffle, and the usual audience participation. A good time had by all, and for the team, valuable practice for the upcoming Fun Day...

Concordes at Blackpool 2008 National Festival

The Concordes in action - and mainly showing off their spoils of victory! - at the Wheelchair Dance Association National Festival, Blackpool 2008. The Concordes claimed gold in the freestyle (well done Bryan for the adult freestyle and Hollie for the junior!), ballroom couples (congrats to Chez and Val), PHAB team event, and shared gold with the Choughs for the Novelty. Congratulations, team - here's to Blackpool 2010!

Concordes at Vassall Centre Demo - June 2008

As part of the Vassall Centre's June 2008 Open Day, the Concordes were invited to perform for visitors in the evening. You'll notice that there are traffic cones in the background - not because the Concordes are a serious menace, but because the demo was held in their motability garage...! Thanks to the Vassall Centre for the invitation.

National Wheelchair Dance Fun Day, October 2007

On 6th October 2007, the Concorde Wheelchair Dancers of Bristol played host to the National Wheelchair Dance Fun Day, an opportunity for wheelchair dancers across the UK to catch up with old friends/rivals, share knowledge, experiences and new dances, and have a laugh with a Halloween masks contest, raffle and crafts sale.

Concordes at BAWA

Pictures of the Concordes' demonstration event at BAWA, for the Polio Fellowship, held on a blistering hot day - 29 April 2007. With a reduced demo team due to unfortunate illness and transport problems, many of the dancers had to work extra hard, with few breaks between dances. Concordes in Blackpool, November 2006

It's not all hard-fought battles on the dance floor - trips to festivals and competitions often include social visits, such as this outing to the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis near Blackpool. More pictures of the Blackpool National Wheelchair Dance Championship may follow shortly.
