Moab, Utah

2 nights in Moab. No pics of Arches yesterday due to dead battery and today it was too windy to hike in canyons. Very dusty so we did chores, laundry and then went up colorado river and then into Castle valley and over LaSal mountain loop. 3 peaks over 12,000. pass at 8,000+. here are some photos. apparently Castle valley area was used in a lot of old westerns. scenery looks vaguely familiar.. Aspens were beautiful.

Canyonlands Expedition

Visiting Canyonlands NP. Stayed at Dead Horse State Park, one of the most incredible isolated places other than north rim of Grand Canyon. Monday we 4 wheeled down the scariest 4 miles I have ever driven to bottom of canyon (almost 2000 feet) then drove along canyon for 13 miles to Potash where we skinny dipped (no photo sorry). then on to Moab, dinner and then another 40 minutes back to trailer. whew, but a fun day

Ananda Velo bike ride celebrating 40th Anniversary

Just before this year's Spiritual Renewal Week, 13 Ananda riders gathered at the village and rode 33 miles to Downieville where we sat by the river and ate pizza. Many of them rode all or part of the way back.

Jesus as a Yoga Master

the final statue of the 5 Yoga Masters finally arrived last week. Carved from white marble in Jaipur, India, this statue is about 24 inches high. It will reside on the dias in Hansa Mandir at Ananda Village.

Jesus Statue in Jaipur

Vidura and I visited Prabhat Exports in Jaipur today where they have been carving a beautiful statue of Jesus for Ananda. He is seated in lotus position with hands upturned. The statue is 24 inches tall similar in size to the other statues of the Masters. PLEASE NOTE: there are pencila markings and brown dust on the statue. These are merely there to highlight for the photos and will be cleaned off in final preparation

Swami Shankarananda personally gave me a copy of these photos from his computer while visiting our home in Ananda. They were taken December 2006 during Swamij's visit where he helped refine the Babaji, Yogananda and Yukteswar statues. Thank you so much for this blessing

Statues of the Kriya Masters arrive at Ananda Village

Finally, after 2 years of work by everyone, the statues arrived. We uncrated and moved them into Hansa Mandir. The small statues are 24 inches high and the large statues, 41 inches high. Pure white marble from the Indian Continent as sculpted by artists in Jaipur India for Ananda Village in Nevada City, California. see http://www.aplacecalledananda.org for more information
