Thorpe Wakeboard - 2nd Aug 2011
Let's set the scene: I am happily taking photographs of my local area when approached by an older photographer. The standard conversation ensues about our cameras and styles/subject - my favourite being action, of course.
He calmly asks if I am "one of them Photoshop users". Internally I sigh, I reply that I use basic post-processing of Picasa to crop, level and colour adjust. Following a derisive snort he retorted some nonsense that it's killing the hobby and any idiot can use a camera and mask lack of skill or improper practice with software. Unwilling to enter this argument with yet another idiot I ignore the provocation and leave.
To prove to myself, these are straight from my camera. No colour, no levels, not even cropping. Sure they would look better if I could tidy them up, but I think I proved my point - I am no pro but they are perfectly acceptable. Taken 2nd August 2011 at JB Ski in Thorpe, Surrey.
