Big Island, Hawaii
Pictures from our recent trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, third and final stop on our vacation in Islands of Hawaii. Several places to see includes, Hilo, Waikoloa, Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea, Mt. Kilauea, East Shores. Activities included helicopter ride to witness lava flows from Mt. Kilauea, City of Hilo, Macadamia Nut and banana farms (in excess of 20,000 Acres) and amazing waterfalls on the east shore, 4x4 offroad driving among the lava fields of early 1800's and older. ATV ride to interiors of this pristine island, and get close to waterfalls and uncharted areas. All in all an amazing experience. As a Geologist, this was the most fulfilling activity, all the concepts achieve a different dimension, adds a new perspective to our recent surrounding and environment that supports us..so much comfortable that what it was 4.5 billions years ago, just another rock in the universe.
