Breezeway 2010

I got a chance to take a photo excursion into Breezeway this last weekend. It was quite the trip, instead of the photographer's just going off to do their own thing, we all stuck together and collaborated on various images. I was underground for 7 hours and only setup four shots. Still, it was quite the experience :)

Post Caving Gear Check/Cleanup

So I took some time to check on my gear after visiting Breezeway. A lot of the gear was protected by ziplock bags while in transport but it would need to be wiped down and cleaned off to prevent long term problems. The tripod and the bag? Well those go into trash bags to wait on the porch for a warmer day. I'll clean those off out there :)

Breezeway Trip 2008

I was lucky enough to be invited on a photo trip through Breezeway in Mantiou Springs. I dragged my heavy camera pack through long narrow crawlspaces. My arms hurt. But wow! I can't believe I got to go and how cool everything looks! On the technical side of things. I brought a pair of Canon Speedlite 580ex Flashes. I brought two lenses: a Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro and a Canon EF-S 10-22. A Canon 20D, a really cheap Quantaray tripod. And a Kata photo backpack round out the bulk of the gear I brought with me. I was surprised how nicely the pair of Canon flashes worked with the ETTL and wireless communication. There were some problems with exposure and getting the second flash to trigger but those were mostly my problems. Experience should reduce the amount of technical issues I perceived.
