"I could counter point by point, but it would be easier and more streamlined to direct you here: http://www.structuremag.org/Archives/2007-11/SF-WTC7-Gilsanz-Nov07.pdf

My thinking is not based on "party line" or cognitive dissonance. It's based on the reality that very few reputable engineers who have systematically and thoroughly reviewed the evidence have come to your conclusion. I have no reason to believe you over them. For instance, saying WTC 7 is a steel frame design is an oversimplification. WTC 7 employed a web column design. In this instance, the design allowed for a single point of failure. Also, the tower collapse did impact WTC 7 directly. Your assertion that it didn't runs counter to the evidence."
Ike Davis
"They were all steel frame buildings, yes. At least one of them, the One Meridian Plaza fire burned its way from the 22 floor to the 30th because of a lack of automatic sprinklers. The fire was only stopped at the 30th because the building had automatic sprinklers there. The building stood for 9 more years while litigation raged about who should pay for its demolition..
The coinciding major collapse nearby is inconsequential and irrelevant to the collapse of WTC 7 because it was not structurally compromised by the collapse of the twin towers.
Meaning no disrespect, but most who discount the plausibility of a conspiracy are (imho) probably guilty of one of two things; 1, Cognitive dissonance, or 2, defend the party line or else (if they can take out jfk, i am not even a thought.. don't make yourself a target)"

"And were those buildings designed the same? Did any of them suffer a complete failure of the sprinklers with that same design? Did any of them have a coinciding major collapse nearby?"

"Seven hours of uncontrolled fire can bring down most buildings. And it defies logic that the building would be brought down in such a "center stage" fashion well after the collapse of the towers, if it were controlled, as that would provide the greatest chance for discovery. It was the most filmed disaster in history. Nobody heard or saw explosives going off in WTC 7, nor were any caught on film."
Ike Davis
"I'm sure you're right. I was being snarky just for the fun of it. I love that there are examples that will please (or annoy) everybody. Of course, if the examples annoy you, you've probably missed the point."
Bert Knabe
"True. I believe that was their point. Remember, these are fallacies, not a valid basis for argument. The examples show the fallacy's weakness."
Ike Davis
"You could have stated the example the other way, too. I can find lists of scientists supporting both positions. :^)"
Bert Knabe
"True. I just look at it from the point of view that we are part of nature, so the chance that we did anything first or exclusively is probably off. Not that that means we've observed it yet."
Ike Davis
"and you just proved my point that it only sounded like a good argument lol. So which one of those pictures is the one about lack of proof being your proof? lol thanks for the education. Life is a journey - never stop learning!"

"The core of this fallacy is that an argument is not less true solely because an opponent can successfully ridicule it, since the ridicule itself may not be based in fact but culture or tradition."
Ike Davis
"Actually, there have been plenty of Christian terrorists, and the most deadly religious violence was perpetrated by Chinese rebels. Terrorism is a tactic, not a religion. Insanity doesn't hold to a creed."
Ike Davis
"all Terrorists are RADICAL Muslims and RADICAL anything is extreme."

"People dress up like Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy ok maybe not the tooth fairy, but how about the easter bunny? point being, how many people go around dressing like God? acting like it, many, but not one will dress like God."
