TNR flyer
Some of the early birds at feeding time. (Funny to use the phrase 'early birds' when speaking of cats.) Photographed here are Jezebel at the bottom left, the Purr Monster, The Kid, and Big Mama.
Feeding time. Charlie Brown aka Mr. Man and the Russian.
Feeding Time all in a row. (I mentioned this in another photo, but I think the two are photographed here. The top photo is the Charcoal Man, and the third cat is White foot. I don't remember them having different faces. I need to figure these two out for documentary. They both, Charcoal Face and White Foot, come around the same time and sleep in my backyard, yet I haven't yet found a distinction to be able to document them properly. The second man is the Russian and the fourth is either Mr Pink or Purr Monster, the last one drinking water is Mr Man/ aka Charlie Brown, he is a good man.
The three men who are my constant outdoor companions. The super cutie white ascot in the middle is my favorite. He's Mr. Man or Charlie Brown as I call him. He is the first one at the door for dinner time. He meows and lets me pet him, but I think he is still a friendly feral. The small one behind him is truly feral. Born only last spring, he is still skittish as is his sister (not pictured). He's learning from the Man how to meow and is pretty good at beating up the Russian (the grey in the foreground and not looking at the camera) for food.
My temporary bedding for the cats. They love this box.
Big Mama Tag; RIP Big Mama had a broken paw, feline AIDS and leukemia and had to be put down. He was so ill. I'm glad he is not suffering anymore.
Big Mama has her front right paw broken. She is still lighting fast and gets around alright, but I would love if someone could catch her to help her.
The Russian Tag; up for adoption at Denver Dumb Friends.
My little Russian Blue man. Super friendly and active. When I try to shovel the snow on the sidewalk he thinks I am trying to play with him. He is honestly going to get his head knocked out as I'm trying to work. He must belong to someone who lets him outside as he is just a sweetie pie. He is however, the most aggressive towards the group. If he's eating, the others just have to wait or else!
My little Russian. Once again playing it up for the cameras. I've noticed he has one runny eye (his left). The runny eye isn't persistent (I've only noticed it twice), it doesn't close his eye up, and I can't tell if it has color, but it is a mucus thickness. He may have to be tested for Leukemia before being put up for adoption.
Jezebel Tag
Jezebel. Ah this poor girl. She is one of the few girls in a man's colony. She seems too young to me, but has been seen getting busy on more than one occasion. She and her brother, The Kid, sleep in the box on my front porch. She doesn't let me touch her, but she is not skittish and let's me get pretty close. She meows and comes to the back door waiting for me to bring her food.
Jezebel on her favorite spot next to the back door.
Jezebel eating.
Charlie Brown Tag
Mr. Man soaking in the sun. (The Kid and Purr Monster in the background.)
Mr Man acting regal.
Mr Man and The Kid. (with Purr Monster in the background)
Purr Monster Tag; RIP Purr Monster was a tame cat, but had feline leukemia and had to be put down.
Purr Monster taking in the sun. With the obligatory cat stance of "are you kidding me!" Or "who the F are you?"! LOL She is more interested in being petted than fed. Which I can believe, sometimes you want love more than food at times.
Mr Pink Tag
Mr Pink. I'm still trying to distinguish between the black and white cats. Both are affectionate, but one more so.
Mr Pink auditioning for Girls Gone Wild, showing her slip for the camera.
Mr Pink. I confuse the Purr Monster with Mr. Pink. One has a white spot on her back and a black beard, I believe that is the Mr Pink. She is a little matted on her belly and is constantly cleaning herself. It's hard to get a photo of her not cleaning herself.
The Kid Tag
The Kid. The Kid has been coming around lately. He meows, waits at the backdoor, is not skittish. Less and less he shudders when I try to pet him. He's a cute kid.
Backdoor beggers.
Charcoal Tag
Charcoal Face has the cutest markings. It think it looks like he stuck his face in the fireplace soot and it just stayed that way. Love the black nose. He is very skittish, but seems to come around sooner to get in line for the food.
Dirty man (Ali) is such a blended mix tabby. He doesn't quite have clear markings and might be a combination of a calico and tabby as his coloring just runs all together making him look dirty all the time. He and Charcoal Man are friends and come around together.
Eggy White Stripe (not captured yet)
RIP Eggy had Leukemia and was put down in late Spring of '09. Eggy White Stripe is very skittish. She reminds me of my old cat Eggy. Her white tail helps me keep her distinguished from the other black and white cats. It reminds me of Pepe Le Pew's love interest cat where her black tail was always getting in white paint making Peppe think she was a skunk and not a cat. Much like Peppe's love, Eggy is not having any of it. She comes around with Dirty (Ali) and Charcoal.

This is the colony that has been coming around more lately (Dirty, Charcoal, etc.). They used to miss out on the food for arriving too late. When they sleep in my backyard, problem solved. They know exactly when I put the food out. A few of them will come over while I'm putting out the food. Most will wait until I go back inside and shut the door.
The Dirty colony. The one at the back left is I believe is Old Deuteronomy. He's not really old, or that old. But he has such a distinct marking on his face, a white lip on the right side of his face. And when he looks at you, you just can't help to think he is wise beyond his years. He is also very large. May be a Maine Coon breed cat. I haven't been able to get a great photo of him yet. I think there is another one I haven't yet identified. He is much like the Charcoal Man, but with much more of a white underbelly and legs. Much like the black/white cats I'm still trying to distinguish him from his brother.
Zorro. Elusive and has just started coming around. He is mainly coming around the colony to mate. I'm not sure where he really lives.
The bitchin' new dog house for the colony. (The Grey Monster on top is a new guy that is coming around.) Inside is the ear tipped 'Dirty', who I am now going to rename 'Ali' for Alley Cat--ed. Now called Pig Pen!. Out front is of course Charlie Brown. Later I saw Charlie and the Grey Monster fighting. I need to catch the Grey Monster and neuter him, or he is going to destroy my passive colony.

Charlie Brown eating with tipped ear.
Charcoal watching with tipped ear. I must admit, I love this picture. It reminds me of trying to catch a picture of a wolf in a snowy setting.
Charlie Brown flirting with my girl Piwa. He is smiling with his eyes. Tyra Banks would be proud.
Charlie Brown watching the others eat, after TNR.

The Kid after ear tip.
Some of the group recovering in my basement, post surgery.
Mr Pink after ear tip.
He's like, "where they hell have you been?" Seriously, this guy is the ringleader... he's the king of the feral colony. (Photo credit and caption Angelique Mark.)
I loved the caption my friend Angelique gave. Charlie Brown, the cat in the foreground, is like the Pied Piper of feral cats -- when the others see him come around, they know it's dinner time. He's quite the little beggar. (Photo credit and caption Angelique Mark.)

Peanut in Snow
Peanut. Obviously part Maine Coon. He is a nut! So affectionate and such a goof ball. His name fits! (I used to call him White Foot because I was just trying to distinguish him from Jezebel.)
Old Deuteronomy, not yet TNR Best photo of her to date! (Photo credit Angelique Mark.) RIP: Ole D' suffered a tragic death after her spaying surgery due to a squirrel paw in her intestines. She did procreate 3 cute kittens who are now my dear lovely's: Frida, Foxy and Maple all girls--all fixed and tame!
Old Deuteronomy (Ole D) with her babies. This is what happens when you miss just one in your TNR. Come Spring time you get a whole new colony. Unfortunately, when I trapped the Mom and brought her into get spayed. She suffered horrible complications due to a squirrel paw in her intestines. She began vomiting and ripped out her stitches and intestines while at the clinic and they were unable to save her. Of course, this made me all the more desperate to catch the kittens. Three wonderful volunteers from RMACA came and helped me catch them and taught me how to feed and care for them. I am so grateful there is somewhat a happy ending for these babies. RIP Ole D, I will do you proud. (Little Frida shown next to Mom. And still a Momma's girl to date!)
Crouching Tiger (Frida and Ole D)
Two babies checking out the world. They have now been caught and are in my basement to be tamed for future adoption. (Frida and Foxy 5 wks old)
Another baby kitten working on her fear of heights perched up in the neighbors wood rubble. This is where we found the three kittens. We had to disassemble the pile to get to them. There was much screaming, but now they are calm and quite and sleeping safe and sound. (Maple aprox. 5wks old)
Hmm, How many Babies can you spot in this photo?
Ole D's babies playing while she eyes the squirrel she is about to eat. (Maple under the shed, Foxy to the left of Momma, and Frida exploring behind and to the right of Momma.)
The squirrel that did in Ole D.
