P6200002.JPG Me with the parents, the night before the uber-long flight to Germany!
P6200003.JPG
P6220004.JPG A very very fancy Mercedes in the Frankfurt airport. I took this mostly for my brother, the car afficionado. I have since seen more German luxury vehicles than I can recount. These folks drive in style!
P6220005.JPG My roommate and student-buddy, Johannes. He cooked dinner for me and the other UNC students on our first night. Some sort of pork over potato noodles in a creamy sauce. Sort of tasty, but it doesn't rank at the top of my list of foods!
P6230007.JPG This photo is inside the law school at the University of Augsburg. There is a man suspended from wires in the lobby area, who looks like he just jumped off of something. It makes me wonder whether law school classes are PARTICULARLY stressful over here, leading to jumpers ;) !
P6230008.JPG I like this piece of art. It's an IKEA creation. EVERYTHING here is IKEA. All of the apartments are very modern and sparse in decor.
P6230010.JPG This is a somewhat lousy picture of a bachelorette party. In Germany, the bride-to-be goes around with her bridal party and fiancee selling candies, kisses, dances, etc. to raise money for the wedding.
P6230011.JPG The bride-to-be just finished a dance with the hat-man while her fiancee watched. In return, he gave her some money for the wedding!
P6260001.JPG My room in Augsburg--Johannes was kind enough to give me his room for the summer while he transformed the living area into a temporary bedroom!
P6260003.JPG Another shot of my room--the desk where I hope not to study much! Virtually all of the furniture I've seen in Augsburg comes from Ikea.
P6260009.JPG The front of my home-sweet-home in Augsburg. Apparently, we sort of live in the ghetto. But, it is much safer/cleaner/nicer than any U.S. ghetto I've ever seen!
P6260010.JPG This is a dynamic fountain in front of the law school that moves with the wind. This sort of art/architecture is very common in Augsburg.
P6280011.JPG The Rathaus in the center of town. Every German has a Rathaus, which is essentially a city hall.
P6280012.JPG Friends and fellow program participants Jennifer and Leslie. They hail from Pepperdine and are a hoot!
P6280014.JPG My rommate Johannes. He takes very good care of me and has been a tremendously gracious host.

P6290048.JPG A very old BMW. The new ones are EVERYWHERE, but this old guy has a bit more style.
