The hike starts along the Colorado River/Potash road about 11 miles "west" of US 191 north of Moab. On the weekend, expect a lot of hikers.
Roger with the parkinglot for the hike to the right. A very popular spot and justifiably so.
The railroad grade cuts through the sandstone to form a manmade canyon.
Just a little arch in the distance. While not protected in Arches National Park, this is clearly "arch country."
Hiking up an old grade.
Fishhook cactus blooming.
The first good view of the arch. Spectacular. See the people in the lower right corner of the arch?
A perspective view.
The hike is not merely a stroll. The BLM has erected ladders and a chain in a couple of tricky spots. Susie is lovin' the help with the big steps.
Roger walking over to the arch.
No, I am not taking a leak under the arch!!
Susie captured this photo looking up thru another arch: Bowtie.

Storm clouds gathering. You can see other hikers on the route here.
Heading back down the fixed cable.
