Mamba's Puff the first four inches of their bodies when agitated. The seven scale head is another distinguishing mark of Mambas.

Their Skin is black and the scales are green.

Finally got him near the head. He was not happy.
The birds hung around to the bitter end. They are mortal enemies of the snake.
He was mostly dead at this point, but we let the birds have a go at him.
They would swoop in, peck at an eye or hit his head with their claws and fly off with all of us within 6 feet.
It was almost impossible to get them as they came and went so fast.
Come from behind, aim for the eyes and head.
Swoop in fast!
Leave in a hurry!
5 foot 4 inches. Not a full grown one as they can reach 7 feet.
