Parade of prisoners, Shenzhen
This incident occurred late in 2006. After police raided a number of brothels the prostitutes, pimps and customers rounded up were paraded in public while their names and other details were read out to the crowd. The women were all dressed in a yellow t-shirt and were given a mask to wear and the men were all in white. This prompted a mixed reaction, some people approving of the police action but others saying this was not appropriate in a modern society. The criticisms themslves were something unusual for the PRC.
