Donna Troy, the heroine formerly known as Wonder Girl. Made from a DCIH Starfire body and a GI Joe movie Scarlet head.
A Titans family photo op.
Indigo-1, from the Compassionate Indigo Lantern Corps! Made from a Star Wars bald X-Wing pilot chick's head and an Avatar Neytiri body and hair. Added hands, sculpted quite a bit, including her little skirt and arm wraps.
Indigo-1 Custom - Green Lantern
This Metallo figure originated from an idea I found elsewhere on the web. I love John Corben's creepy robotic form reveal!
Metallo 4" Custom Figure
Stargirl (Courtney Whitmore) is DCIH parts with boots from an Avatar Jake Sully. Belt is Sculpy.
Stargirl with her JSA friends.
"The preppy look just isn't for me..."
Plas was made from a Build & Brawl Miz head and a Marvel Universe Johnny Storm body. Goggles are Sculpy.
"Hi-5 if you dig that funky red & yellow color scheme, my brutha!"
Starman (Mikaal Tomas) is made from a GI Joe movie Cobra Commander coat and arms, Indiana Jones hands, Wolverine movie torso and legs, and some wrestler guy's head. His chest gem thingy is Sculpy.
This Lex Luthor battle suit is a repaint of an old Star Wars mini rig.
The modern Blue Beetle, Jaime Reyes. Made him from an animated Iron Man figure and sculpted the backpack scarab.
Unmasked! The teenaged Tony Stark face was perfect for Jaime Reyes, so I left it untouched.
I sculpted the beetle/scarab thing and used junk pieces for the legs and pincers.
Blue Beetle II and Blue Beetle III.
Stel! I think he looks pretty close to the version from the Green Lantern movie. Made from an Iron Man armor (not sure the name of it) with a little sculpting.
Mattel's "Concept Figure" version with my custom. I think the concept figure is cool, but I prefer the way Stel turns out in the film.
Blackfire—also known as Komand'r—Starfire's sometimes-evil older sister.
Sisters... Sisters... There were never such dysfunctional sisters...
General Zod from Superman comics. I took some liberties with his costume, but it's loosely based on his appearance in the World of New Krypton storyline
Zod with Kelex
Zod in the Fortress of Solitude
The modern incarnation of Cosmic Boy. The reddish detail is definitely more "pink" in person (true to the comics).
Cos' costume disk thingies are just drops of fabric paint that I painted over repeatedly and then added gloss seal. The belts are Star Trek 3 3/4" belts, pouches modified from DCIH Lex Luthor figures, and cardstock + heavily painted buckles.
Lightning Lad shows off!
Joining their friend. I want to at least make Saturn Girl to complete the "Legion 3".
Aquaman! Toughest part was adding the fins. It was a trick to make them sturdy without being too bulky.
Added a little scale "texture" with paint and a different sheen on his shirt.
Green Lantern John Stewart. I still haven't gotten the DCIH 6-pack with this guy. I think I like mine better, anyway.
Ice! One of my favorite DC characters since the Giffen/DeMatteis/Hughes Justice League
Ice and Guy Gardner - the coolest comic book couple of them all.
The custom was not as simple as I thought it would be. I had to sculpt the fur boots - and the high contrast paint job was tough to pull off neatly.
The blue and the gold and the blue and the green...
Creepy, creepy Silver Banshee! This was a simple Starfire repaint.
I love the concept of Miss Martian. Megan Morse is 2 parts DCIH Supergirl and 2 parts DCIH Raven. A little sculpting on the skirt and a new collar & belt buckle.
That's "Billy Batson" in the background (obviously a quick Mutt Williams repaint), and Professor Henry Jones teaching some little guys.
Got to see the Watchmen movie early! I wish Dr. Manhattan had kept this Speedo on for more of the movie...
The Bug is a dirtied-up version of the Brave & the Bold toy.
Beetle is partly a John Cena WWE figure. Sanded down his hair & added Sculpy for the goggles. Holster was from another figure.
Booster is a smiley WWE figure (don't know his name!). Sculpted down his hair to form the mask, and added Sculpy for goggles.
Man, I've always wanted a Kelex action figure! My son was playing with some Crayola 'Magic Dough', I think it was called. He had a little left over, and it hit me - how simple would it be to piece together the shapes, add some custom fodder extras.... And I'm thrilled to have this guy in my Fortress of Solitude.
DCIH Raven with "Beast Boy" ;-)
Conner Kent Superboy is a Mutt t-shirted figure from the Indy line. The head is from a generic line of figures at Big Lots.
Quick custom Arctic Lex Luthor - replaced the head from a Golden Compass figure. The woman is a Miss Tessmacher type ;-).
Daily Planet, with staff and Luthor baddies.
Jimmy, Superman, Lois & Perry.
Lois is a quick Elizabeth Swan repaint. Perry is a couple different Indy figures, with a head from a Titan A.E. character.
Quick Bruce (from Incredible Hulk) repaint gives us Jimmy Olsen! Wish you could see his freckles. I need to add camera & signal watch accessories.
WWE figure becomes Obsidian!
One of my favorite customs, Red Tornado. He looks like he's die-cast metal in person.
Just finished Rex Mason: Metamorpho. Yet another WWE redo. Sorry for the lousy photo.
This is an updated version of my Guy Gardner GL. I replaced his open right hand with a fist from another wrestling figure. I used the vest from the DCIH Guy Gardner figure
I sculpted the leg gauntlets and made the hooded cape. Otherwise, a simple paint job.
Alfred! Wish I could get some better shots of the guy. He looks very sharp in person ;-)
A portion of my Batcave diorama
This is a superhero I made up for the kids I work with at church. He's called "UnderDave". It's a fun character - you can find videos at youtube, or at UnderDave.com
Fire in my favorite costume of the character - especially when drawn by the talented Adam Hughes. She's part DCIH Black Canary (torso and arms) and part DCIH Wonder Woman (head and legs)
Green Lantern Alan Scott was made from a DCIH Captain Marvel (head, torso, arms, upper legs & cape) , a DCIH Superman (belt) and a DCIH Guy Gardner (lower legs)!
The modern Superwoman was made from a DCIH Raven figure
I made the Prince Caspian castle into my Checkmate Castle ;-)
