Battle Bots contestants in the "pit area"

Miniature Jousting Project
This machine etched CDs with designs
Small machines that used heat from a flame to turn a turbine
This display's projects were high quality and clean looking. I'm guessing that this man is a professional in a trade related to this type of engineering.
An animated face projected onto a head.
This display let people "play" a harp by passing their hands in between the boards, breaking a laser path and telling a computer to play a note.
Have your own R2 unit...with out having to kill you some Sand People.
This machine swiveled an LED light around to create a random light show
I guess the signs say it all.
This display had a propane tank hooked up to a simple tube with holes on the top like a grill burner. When the stereo was turned on the bass note formed the flames to match the frequency of the note which made a "wave" pattern.
Wave pattern of a note reflected by the flames.

Seth gets the freakout glasses on
The man in the middle may be asleep. You either get real relaxed or kinda freaked out.
Learn to solder!
Amy tries out the glasses.
This child got dumped out of this cardboard craddle thing as it was drug on floor. It was terrible yet hilarious to witness.
Remote control robots.
These are the things that will come into your home and record your life for the government one day. I for one welcome my new spiky metal overlords.
Peddle yourself around. The little girl in the purple wasn't peddling , getting a free ride.
Sing the Billy Squire song. You know you want too.
Peddle the bike to turn the guitars to make a song.
Snake Bike!
Head of the Snake Bike
This person drove the head around while hapless faire-goers peddled. Lots of peddling at this faire.

Trebuchet competition underway
The editor in chief from Make magazine helps out with some homemade trebuchets
We were pulling for this team. These two dudes and 1 girl almost had it wrapped up. They lost to a team that wasn't using water balloons but weighted balloons with shot.
The firing range
Ready for launch. The trebuchet's name was "Eye of Destiny" or "Eye of Traingle" or something awesomely high-schooly.
The girl in the yellow was the third team member.
Some kids with a mini-trebuchet. I believe he built it himself so props to this kid.
I think this was some sort of commemorative display for people that have passed away but I am not 100% sure.
Is there really any other need for other robots when this is the ultimate robot? They were from ACC as well which was cool to see.
