Santhome Church
My Visit to Chennai for work with Jesus Calls Ministries, from 24 October 2011 to 29 October 2011. Had opportunity to visit the Santhome Roman Catholic church where the tomb of St. Thomas is maintained.
They said to me, St. Thomas had a small church in this location at Mylapore, The Hindus at that time wished to murder him as the presence of God was clearly manifest through him when he came around, they say they could not perform their religious demonic practiced such as their Pooja's while he was around ... etc. So they tried to kill him in here but he escaped to what is now known as St. Thomas Mount on the other side of Madras (now, Chennai), there they killed him with an arrow while he was praying, then some of his disciples brought his body to this place and buried the same. The tip of the arrow is preserved in here in a small museum above this room on the ground floor. The tomb is few feet below the present ground floor - located in a small chapel made for this purpose.
