AOI Winter Course 2006 - Roberto Foglietta Sensei,
an Italian native from the Adriatic town of Pesaro, started practicing Aikido in 1976 in Ezechiele Romagnoli's dojo, then a leading teacher of Aikido
& Judo. Since July 1977 he starts to follow Tada, Hosokawa & Nomoto Senseis and last but not least Fujimoto Sensei, who will become the most important referent of his Aikido formation.
In 1985 he moves to Milan to train in Fujimoto Sensei's dojo and so improve his skills. It is in the Aikikai Milano dojo that he meets Simone Chierchini and starts with him a friendship that lasted already more than 20 years. Roberto travels regularly to Japan to train in Hombu Dojo, Tada Sensei's Gessoji Dojo & Nomoto Dojo. He has his own Aikido school in Italy based in Pesaro & Rimini and gives courses in Italy & abroad. In 2001 he has accompanied Fujimoto Sensei at his Sligo course.
